Scotland’s whisky industry is currently experiencing an economical boost, thanks to the freight services by DB Schenker and J.G. Russells.

In fact, the trading power between Scotland and Poland is supposed to grow stronger over the next few months with volumes to Eastern Europe increasing steadily.

Thousands of Scottish whiskey bottles are currently transhipped on a weekly basis via DB Schenker's rail services, from Central Scotland via Barking to Wroclaw in Poland. Thanks to the these kind of freight services being much more environment friendly than classical haulage, CO2 emissions are expected to decrease significantly.

According to DB Schenker, a second weekly freight service may be introduced in autumn this year.
