Royal Mail drops the ball: Bank cards reported missing, customers left empty handed!

About thirty people who live on the same road in Crystal Palace, London, have reported that their bank cards have not arrived despite having been sent by their banks.

PINs and replacement cards were among the missing cards they held. As a result, a number of people have recently fallen victims to fraud. Someone on this street reported that the thieves used her debit card to make £1,000 in purchases before applying for a new one using their personal information.

Residents contacted their banks and Royal Mail, who informed them that investigations were ongoing. However, they were also told to get in touch with Action Fraud in order to take more action.

According to the trade organisation UK Finance, in the first half of this year, thieves intercepted mailed bank cards and stole more than £1.4 million.

Royal mail has also been investigated and fined £5.6 million this year by Ofcom for failing to meet their delivery targets.
