DHL eCommerce has recently relocated its operations from Elkridge, Maryland, to a state-of-the-art facility spanning 138,500 square feet in Manassas, Virginia.

This move signals a strategic shift to enhance their capabilities in handling B2C domestic volume, bolstered by an additional workforce of 130 employees.

Situated at 11400 University Blvd. in Manassas, Virginia 20109, the new distribution centre boasts a prime location just 30 minutes away from Washington Dulles International Airport (IAD). Doubling the size of their previous facility, it features 41 dock doors and ample office space to accommodate expanded operations seamlessly.

Moreover, DHL eCommerce's commitment to sustainability shines through with the incorporation of environmentally friendly elements. Among these are four EV charging stations, clear story windows, and an electric HVAC system. The facility's sorting machines are equipped to process a staggering 14,000 packages and parcels per hour.

Lee Spratt, CEO of DHL eCommerce, Americas, expressed confidence in the growth trajectory of e-commerce, underscoring the strategic importance of the Manassas location within DHL eCommerce's broader “five-year growth plan”.

In 2023, DHL also relocated a flagship sorting hub in Hebron, near Cincinnati and the Northern Kentucky Airport.
